Sounds like a very fair response from teh dealer. Good luck and enjoy the LX. It looked like a nice one.

That was VERY upstanding of the seller to do that. No doubt they deserve 5 stars for standing up like that IMO.

Well the VA dealer has agreed to split the cost with me 50/50 and has actually worked with the repair shop to lower the cost of the re manufactured transmission installation from $4,000 to $3,600!

I must say that the main reason I was willing to travel 500 miles was that the dealer (Ultimate Motors of VA) had many positive reviews on cars.com. They legally had no contractual obligation to pay me anything and this is just a "goodwill" refund from my purchase price. I will likely go online and give them another 5 star review!

Thanks for the referal to ACC Toyota. I will likely check them out later as I used a local independent Toyota/Lexus shop for the transmission repair - Garrards Automotive in Buford.

Now on to enjoying the LX and starting my mods!!!

Great news! That's now one of those items you'll likely never have to worry about again as long as you own the LX so you can focus on having fun with mods!

I'm glad to hear they are doing right by you. I felt terrible to hear this, and having only bought my 2000 hundy very recently I could only imagine what I would have done having it happen on the way home. 50/50 is a deal!
