Just wanted to introduce myself. Been looking for 80's for the past couple years, but didn't find one that met my criteria. Ran into this 100 at a local dealership with 176K miles. For some reason, they had it listed on Autotrader with a price of $9600, but nobody knew where the truck was. After going through a couple members of their staff, it turns out that it was sitting on their back lot on it's way to the auctions. It was a recent trade in, and they had no interest in putting a 'high mileage' vehicle on their lot. It was absolutely filthy, inside and out.

I test drove it, and fell in love almost instantly. It's pretty much got every option, and everything worked on it! They produced a history report, and it was a one owner vehicle with an excellent consistent maintenance record at Toyota dealerships. One thing that caught my eye was the timing belt and water pump replacement at 141K. Good, at least that was done.

I inquired about the price, and was expecting their Autotrader listing price of $9600. They came back with $7500!!! I wrote them a check right then and there. Since it was considered "wholesale" pricing, they weren't going to send it through their detail shop. No big deal, right? But when I came back later that evening to pick it up, they had it washed and clean inside and out. Steamed cleaned the engine, and shampooed the carpets, etc.

It only came with one valet key, that I found out later was programmed as the master. I made a copy, and had an aftermarket keyfob made up.

First thing that's gotta go is the running boards, and the hideous gold package trim. I already put on order some front mudflaps/hardware, new chrome emblems/2003+ Landcruiser nameplate, and the center console pocket. Also on the agenda is a good buff job, and some touch up paint for a few random rock chips.

Looks just like the one I bought for my daughter last month.
Really like the v8 in the 100 vs the inline six in my lx450.

Nice looking Cruiser! And a great deal!

Looks like you got a heck of a deal. A lotta guys go with plasti-dip to cover up the gold emblems, not sure if you're into the blacked out look, but several guys on here seem to have good results with that. These trucks are a fun little obsession, enjoy and congrats.
