I've been cutting and hauling firewood this week, and I have noticed my springs are pretty soft. I have an 01 tacoma 4x4. 2.7L. I would like some input on the best swap for the money spent. Would you guys recommend the factory replacement. I would like to try OME but are they too stiff for everyday driving. I don't really wheel it that much but I am in 4WD a good bit on the farm, hunting etc. and I do a fair amount of hauling in the bed and with a trailer. Bring the .02.

I did the same thing (overlaoded with fire wood) with my Taco and just did an AAL from the autoparts store to help revive the springs.
I also added a longer shackle but that was to help level the truck with the 2.5" front lift.

The OME rear leaf springs are going to give you about a 2.5-3" lift, so I would just go with an AAL like bowyer. Most places can do it for ~$140 (springs off of the truck). They will rebend the factory springs then add in an extra spring.

If you go OME, I'd go with the "comfort" series shocks. They are denoted with the letter "C" at the end of the shock model (N91SC, for example). I don't have them, but people who have the comfort shocks say that they ride better than stock shocks. Heard good things about Bilstein 5100, too.

I bought OME recently, and i got the 2.5" lift. The suspension starts stiff, of course, but once it breaks in, it feels awesome. You may also get the shorter lift, which is 1.5-2.25" lift. I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for in price, and that whole set up costs quite a bit, hope that helps!
good luck.
