Alright my problem is the idle as i have previously posted. The problem is that when it gets into the lower RPMs it wont idle at all, it just dies. So i have to set the idle screw so that it sits around 1500 rpm and even then it likes to bounce between 1300 and 2000 rpm and if you hit the gas it takes about 3 or 4 secs before it returns to where it is set. Does anyone know where i can get detailed instructions on how to remove and clean the carb? Or could something else be causing this?

x2 on vacuum leaks and also

Check the engine fuse and fuel cutoff solenoid.

awesome

I will be sure to locate and check those as soon as i get home. Thanks guys. Any other ideas are welcome.

Also, make sure that the screw you're adjusting is either the idle speed screw or the idle mixture screw. I made the mistake of adjusting one when I thought it was the other.

Vacuum leaks as well. Check those.

alright

The previous owner had moved all the adjustment screws. How do i move them back into adjustment? Also where is the pcv valve located? Thx again

The PCV valve is located on the passenger side close to the firewall down below the last sparkplug. It is pressed into a metal pipe going into the engine with a hose coming out the top.

You will want to find the adjustment screw on the inside of the carb close to the valve cover under the air filter housing which is the idle mixture and see if there is a plug over the adjustment screw. If that is the case, then that has not been adjusted before. Then find the idle speed screw adjustment on the back of the carb which is the side next to the firewall.

You want to adjust these screws using the lean drop method. Let me find some threads on it.

If the idle mixture was off, could that kill the engine or would it just idle rough?
