I have my truck getting new Nitto Terra grapplers put on and an alignment, and they are saying my passenger rear tire is sitting 20,0000ths of an inch off(forward) and are wanting to widen the bolt hole that my lower control arm mounts to on the frame enough to move the axle back to where it should sit. My concern is that if I back up or roll off of something backwards I could cause it to be off again by hitting something hard enough to move the control arm again. Should I allow them to do this or should I wait and get another opinion.

Thanks for the quick responses.

No, I would not change the original tolerances set by the factory, I would like to think that TOYOTA has an idea of why it is the way it is and at least more so than the local tire guy.

just my .02

I just dropped it off. The new tires are freakin' awesome!!! I will let you all know what happens at the stealership this afternoon. Should know something in the next 30 minutes or so. The good thing is the all pro lower control arms are only $300 so if it comes down to the fact they will not replace the control arm under warranty, I can do some quick wrenching and hopefully have it all within specs by the trip.

thanks for the help guys! as suggested take it to the dealership they put it on their machine and it was not off like the other shop had said. they got it all in line and I hope to have some pictures up this weekend of the new rubber on the truck!!
