Hello guys, typical first post, newb question here. I have read all of the FAQs thread and searched, but this problem seems unique, even though I have learned a lot from just reading the content here on this site.
A little backstory...I have a 2000 LC100. Currently a daily driver with ~179k. It is my first land cruiser and hopefully not my last. I bought this vehicle already with many accessories. The wiring for these accessories is a complete nightmare. It has some extra accessories that I do not have a use for (wiring for a CB radio and a radar detector) and some that I do (a hardwired rechargeable Stream Light and a Warn 9000xi winch). There are also some KC lights and rear lights installed that currently work, but I plan on upgrading both at a later date.
About 3 months ago, I had issues with my VSC/ABS lights come on and off, where I cannot shift into drive. I took it to the Toyota dealership and they could not replicate the problem, of course. It was shortly after that visit, that I was driving down the road when my alternator gave out. Took it back to Toyota dealership and they replaced it. I had mentioned to them about wiring/electrical issues again, but they gave me back the same report of nothing is wrong. I believe that the alternator is just a piece of the puzzle regarding the big picture problem. Since then, I have all of my turn signals and hazards quit working. They would blink twice whichever direction you chose and then quit. I have replaced fuses, which blow immediately upon using the signal.
Recently, I am having problems starting the vehicle. I hear the clicking sound sometimes and sometimes it fires right up. I checked my starter relay and it appears to be good. I have tested my battery, it is good. I want to get this problem resolved and I am out of options. I do not think it is my starter because all of these problems seem related eclectically to me.
What do the pros think?
