Spent the week at IOP, drove the Land Cruiser down. Meant to get it to Lex-Tech and have Glenn look at the A/C but family and beach took all of my time. That will be another day.
On the way home Saturday, truck was driving great, but when i came to a stop at the exit, it died. It cranked back up but would not idle at all.
I was thinking that possibly a vacuum hose disconnected, but doing a quick search yesterday did not reveal anything. I'll do a more thorough search one night this week and see if I missed anything.
Any other ideas? i tried to seach the main board but there are 1,000 "truck won't idle" posts and none seem similar to my problem.
Thanks in advance

With all the vacuum lines on a 60, that could very well be your problem. Also, check the fuel filter, fuel pump, ond/or carb. Bring it Sat. and we can check it out.

I'm gonna try and make it down...

but with a wedding that afternoon and a pregnant wife and daughter at home, it might be difficult. ;)

if you can come earlier let us know and maybe a couple of us can be there earlier as well....I can be there at 11am if that will help. Also let me beat the lunch crowd :D That way I can go over some info for our meeting while everyone stuffs their faces with bbq and onion rings. LOL

vacuum leak or Idle Cutoff Solenoid would be my first guesses. If it idles better when you pull out the choke some, start looking for leaks.

Yep it idles fine with the choke out...

I gotta get under the hood and look for the leak. I have newer silicone tubes, so i don't think one has cracked. I'm betting one is disconnected.

I think I am going to replace all of my vacuum lines with the silicone as well....where did you get yours or were you able to get a roll and cut your own to length? I was going to check Charleston Rubber and Gasket up off North Rhett and Bankton

Brock the PO replaced them all...

He got the silicone lines from a local marine supply company, if my memory is correct. He just ordered something like 45 feet of it, got out his FSM to verify, and replaced them one by one. Sounds like a fairly straightforward job.

Yeah that was my plan....buy a roll....take off one...cut to length using original for guide...replace on both nipples...then move to the next.

I will check a few places today if I can...the 3mm seems to be a little odd in size...most I see are 3.5mm, 4mm or 2.5mm.

informationjunky was right...

a wire of the fuel cut solenoid was burnt in half. I just ground it on the firewall, idles perfect now. I finally got some time to investigate Sunday afternoon.

Glad you guys had a nice meeting, i was helping wife organize a 700-person wedding all day. Not fun.

Glad you got it working again.

I wouldn't even want to attend a 700 person wedding let alone help organize one. I believe I would have gotten a 24 hour bug that day.:)
