I want to mount a Painless Cirkit Boss (7-circuit model) in my 200. It has to be inside the cabin and I would prefer to mount it in/under the dash, close to firewall area; and avoid under the seats. The location needs to be out of the way, but accessible. I’d prefer to use existing bolts via simple homemade bracket (see below). To give you an idea of the endstate, this block will power aux USB ports, dash/rear cams, GPS receiver, etc.
The problem is, I’m having a hard time finding a suitable location, so I’m open to suggestions.
To illustrate what I’m going for, here’s where I mounted the Painless 3-circuit model in my ‘12 Tacoma:
For the Taco, I fab’d a mounting bracket out of 1” flat aluminum stock and bolted it to one of the brake pedal mounting studs. Solid as a rock, but from eyeballing it, the same area on the 200 is a bit more cluttered. This seems to be a trend throughout the 200’s dash area when compared to my previously-owned Tacoma and Jeeps; in the 200, there is a lot more going on (less space), more sound deadening material, etc.
And here is the Painless Cirkit Boss for reference. It’s roughly twice the size of their 3-circuit unit, thus making it even harder to shoehorn.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or solutions (photos would be appreciated).
