need passenger side black mirror for '00 LX470. My sons mrror will no longer fold back out, so we were hoping to just replace the mirror. Anyone have one for sale?

So basically the mirror is folded and you cannot get it to come back out?
Check the mechanism inside. You have to push in the glass mirror from the top (as you are looking at the sky through the mirror). Then at the opening at the bottom (between the glass and the mirror housing) pull the glass out of the housing.
Then lift to unmount the mirror from the motor mechanism. Disconnect the heater wires and now you can inspect the fold-unfoldmechanism. Clean it with compressed air and apply some penetrant like WD40.

See at 3-minute mark here:

Yup so I had already watched that video a couple times. When I got home last night I popped off the mirror and door panel, and brought the mirror into the house and sprayed PB Blaster on the three screws under the mirror. at 2:12 he talks about them. I was not able to remove them, and the more I pushed the screws began to strip. Not sure what to do at that point, so I just put it all back together and on the car. The mirror is fully operational aside from the folding back out. I looked on EBay and saw that not power mirrors were 65$ but another $30 to ship! did not feel $100 for a non power mirror was a good deal. But almost $300 for a used chipped and beaten up power mirror was not good either! Hoping someone on the board has a black working power one that they would part with for a better price. The driver side mirror will not open or close, does not sound like there is any power to it, but aside from that the mirror part does adjust left right not up or down.

Once you remove the glass/mirror, can't you see the spring holding the unit? Clean that area with some compressed air. Also clear any debris (mainly dust) accumulated at the opposite side of those 3 bolts. Try spraying WD 40 and slowly try to move the mirror out. As a a preventative maintenance, I spray WD-40 into the folding joint in all my truck side mirrors.

Yes, $300 is too much. I might be able to find the housing on passenger side, will let you know if it is in good condition.

Thanks, yeah I had the mirror off and it actually was no problem cleaning that area, but because I cannot remove those 3 screws, the part of the unit that controls opening and closing cannot be accessed. Going to try again tonight but I do not want to strip the screws.

hmmm, well I have been able to remove teh screws with a friends help. He hammered the screwdriver while he turned it and I held the mirror. It worked. But now I have it all apart and I do not see any issues. I was expecting maybe broken teeth on the gear or something, but it was fine. Now i am just perplexed.

well I put it all back together and now when I push the button I hear nothing. the mirror will not open or close at all. is there a fuse or relay I may have blown, or a reset or something??

Do you have retracting mirrors?
Are you taking about adjusting the mirror/glass?

Yes retracting mirrors. But right now neither side opens or closes. The actual mirrors are adjustable - The right is fully adjustable, but the left only goes left or right, up and down do not work at all.

There are two tiny motors to adjust the glass/mirror. One for left and right and one for up and down. Try gently pushing the glass from the top or bottom. Do you hear a free motor running inside when you try to move it up or down? Also try to move the glass mirror up or down while pushing it from the top or bottom.

Check any fuses. Since you try to retract the mirror several times and it was jammed, the fuse may be blown.
