Need opinions on which 100 to go with

I am relatively new to this 100 scene, I used to have a 98 yrs ago. My 80 is sold so I want to replace it with a 100. Looking at a few right now, 2003 with 142k on it, timing belt done, good condition or 2001 with 95k on it, needs nothing. Both are grey. Price nearly the same. I know the basic differences between the 99-2002 and the 2003+ trucks. Thanks in advance.

An 03 with 142,000 miles or an 01 with 95,000 miles? The lower mileage sure makes the 01 more attractive to me. The life of the 01 would be much longer. 48,000 miles longer.

Pretty significant mileage difference. I am assuming the trucks are in the same overall condition?

I'd go with the 01.

Given the same condition, I would go 03. Mainly for the 5-speed transmission. Plus, it has the TB done (didn't say whether the 01 had it done in your post).

Besides, what's 50k on an LC?

Thanks guys, 01 looks cleaner and did have the timing belt done too. Definitely torn between the two. The 03 has had 5 owners, that does concern me though.

Hmmm, so you'd have to give up 48,000 miles of wear in order to get the 5-speed... That's about 4 years of hard driving for me!
