Wife has a 2001 LC. The previous owner mounted a set of coopers that have worn unevenly in a hurry since we purchased last summer.

I want to go with the Michelin LTX MS. I have seen some friend's LCs with this tire but it looks different than the Michelins I have run on my Suburbans and Explorer. Is there a Toyota specific tire?

Wife called local tire place. They have a H and S rating available in a couple of days. The S has a 60 K warranty, the H does not.

Any suggestions? The LC is simply a kid hauler right now.

I love the Michelin LTX MS tires. I've had them on my 80 series for eight years now, the first set lasted a very long time. I replaced them more from an age standpoint than wear. If you keep them inflated properly, rotate every other oil change (assuming you keep truck in alignment) they wear like iron. I would go with the ones with better price probably. I have had both the S and H model and never noticed a difference for the kind of "mall cruiser" driving that we do.

Just make sure you do the alignment first or have it checked before spending a chunk of change on new tires.

I might be wrong, but I don't think the LTX M/S2 is available in 275 70 16. Only the LTX M/S.

If you want a "slightly" more agressive tread, but still great road manners, look into the Michelin LTX A/T 2. I put some on my daughter's 4Runner, and love 'em.

Looks like the m/s 2 and a/t 2 aren't available in this size.

After some looking around at the Michelin site and the internet sellers, the H is not warrantied and the S is. The S is $6/tire more. Just want the best ride quality.

You are correct, however the M/S2 does come in 265/75R16 which he probably wouldn't even be able to tell the difference on the vehicle.

The M/S2 is more expensive, so if you are looking to save a few bucks the M/S is the way to go.

+2 (I have them on both my LX and LC) Great tire.

I echo what others say about the tires. I had the truck 6 years with same tire. I had to replace tires not because of tread but the tires were at 8 years from the mfg date with about 70k miles. Advised to replace to be on safe side due to age. Replaced with same tires and felt no difference in handling.

I decided to stay with same tires because I still travel around country with the truck. I just did not want to give up comfort and safety of Michelins.
