Theres a cable that plugs into the key switch runs down the steering colum I need One for a 76 40. Well I think I do It would start 1 day wouldn't the next and I've checked every thing else. Any Ideas?

No, no, no, I can start it by jumping the starter! just can't get signal to starter. trying to keep her runnin before rigger sets in.

Take the plastic cover off the column, the ignition switch is visible opposite the key, you can test all the terminals from here with a test light.......find someone that knows how to use one of these items.
