Helped a friend years ago paint his Jeep in his garage. Can't remember if his garage had a window or door at the front we used good quality boxed air filters. He had a door going to the back yard replaced that with a cheap hollow core door. Cut a opening in that door that fit a opening for a side draft cooler I have. We installed flex duct on the cooler outlet and ran it to his backyard and pointed in the grass. That way could monitor any paint getting out. On the three sides of the three sides of the cooler put rolled filter media. Sealed all any other openings in the garage. He did also sprayed a fine mist from hose first to help with any dust in the air. Ran the cooler on low speed while painting. Seemed to work pretty good. The cooler that acted like a air scrubber worked very well. The filter media and cooler pads turned blue. The water in the cooler was blue. But his grass didn't have the slightest tint of blue. His biggest concern was neighbor's getting upset. He didn't even think anyone know he did it.
I don't know much about paints but he knew a explosion proof motor and wiring/switches were not needed with the paint he was using.
