Hi I have a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser. I bought a new Kenwood Excelon 589 Cd player got it install in circuit city. I want to upgrade the front and the back speakers. How do I take out the stock speakers? I want to upgrade the speakers my self. Can someone show me step by step how to tkae out and put the new one in thanks.

I can't really help except to warn you to go slowly. Often times there is a special tool to do things like remove window handles or door panels or speaker grill covers. And the temptation is always to just try and pry things off. You end up breaking little plastic pieces that used to hold your interior in place and aren't available at the dealer or cost an arm and a leg and a special order to get.

I guess it would help to look at a service manual ifyou can find one. Sometimes they describe how to remove interior panels. Replacing the actual speaker is the easy part. Getting to it is what takes the time.

Do a search in the 80 series forum.

Getting the door panel off is the easy part. Just remove the armrest (3 screws, I think), the plastic piece behind the inside door releass (1 screw). The panel is held on with little plastic snap in thingys (technical term) :D A removal tool (at most auto parts stores) is helpful for removing those.

Finding speakers that will fit in the stock location is the hard part.
