I have to hot press a hub onto the shaft of my EV motor. The motor has to be on end and the hub driven on at 420 degrees and it has to go exactly right on the first try. Not something I can do alone.

Who wants to help????? Plenty of burned fingers, smashed toes, and barked knuckles. Fun for the whole family. I will supply vegan sausage and non alcoholic beer.

cool shaft first and work quickly, a helper to heat hub with torch while you press it to slow the cooling as it touches shaft and be prepared for a bad fit, cut hub off and redo, been there on different application, had it work great first time, had utter failure as well, you'll get it, excited to see the finished product. Have you calculated total vehicle weight ?

Thanks for the information. I’ll keep it all in mind. If I have to cut the shaft off I am totally screwed. I’ll just have to send the whole Motor back to net gain

I have not calculated the total weight yet. I’m not sure there are even weights available for the frame and the body

I misread his post. Cut the hub off.
