I need help from someone in the area. I need to sell my 1977 FJ-40 but I have no idea what is a fair price. I don't want to sell it but financially it is my only option right now. If someone is in the area and could come take a look at it and knows what a fair price would be and could help me sell it I could help you out on some work or parts for your own Land Cruiser. I say that because I'm a master Toyota tech for the last 8 years at a local dealer and I know how to work on them and get parts close to cost.
So a quick low down on it.

That is a nice looking ride. Sorry you have to give it up. I will keep my ears open for you for a buyer. If I had more resources available I would have definitely considered it.

Did you do the ebay cruise and check for FJ's in similar state of wholeness and resto/mod? I'd say it would fetch a nice amount outside of Wisconsin but I'm 45 minutes north of you and doubt there are to many prospective buyers in this local market. Do you have a decent idea of your investment at your cost on parts and no labor?

Thanks. GF moved out becuse she thinks I'm spending to much time with a freind helping her raise her daughter. So the bills are getting tight. I can't get rid of the FJ Cruiser becuse I need something safe to drive a 2 year old around in. A littel extra $$$ would be nice. I just love that kid so much. Well if you hear anything let me know.

tempting

I may be interested. Pm me the mileage tub condition, etc. Maybe some pics.
Thanks

alum vs. steel

What are your thoughts on your alum tub vs. steel. I am in the process of doing a resto and am at the point of body work now.

I am not sure what your cruiser is worth. With all of those parts, who knows.

The alum tub is vary light and has changed the ride alot. I had to pull a leaf out of the rear springs becuse the rear end like to bounce around so much it was unsafe coming to stops. The rear wheels would lockup and the truck would want to spin. Other than that it fit well and was varey pleasant to work with. Thay say it can be put on in a weekend, but if you are like me it will take a month to get every thing perfect before the first hole is even cut. I would not recommend it at this time not knowing how Wis. weather will treat it years down the road. So far I love it.

thanks for the insight. I will stick to steel tub(heritage).

I am not wanting to buy your fj. I think it is worth 5k or less. Simple as that. I bought mine with 49k miles for 4.5k in stockbridge, wi, and it was completely original.

i just have issues with the tub now. All of the doors, top, etc. are in vgc.

Good luck
