I'm trying to get Google Earth setup for navigation assistance on a vacation trip next week. I've paid for the upgrade to Google Earth Plus and activated it. I have a decent understanding of how to cache the route data so I don't need a live internet connection. My problem is with the display in live mode.
I've got my Garmin Forerunner GPS communicating with Google Earth in live mode and tracking my position, but it's zoomed in way to close to the ground. You can't even see the street in front of my house without zooming way out. I could only get it to stay zoomed out if I uncheck the box for "automatically follow the path". But if I do this, then my position does not stay centered on the screen. Once I drive to a position off the screen, I have to manually scroll to stay centered. If I check the box to automatically follow my path, it zooms way in again! I cannot seem to zoom out and have it automatically scroll the map. How do I change the view altitude (zoom) for this realtime mode and stay centered on the display????
