I recently purchased a 1981 fj40 from alabama and noticed after a few months that some of the paint was bubbling in areas. I have now stripped the cruiser down to just the body and had to cut the body bolts because of the rust. The body inside had herculiner which was installed over some rust and I noticed that some of the metal has already been replaced. I need some help welding spots back up and repairing others such as rear fenders, rear corners, driver floor board and wheel wells. Any help would be great as I just trailered from Mississippi State to my mothers house in Ocean Springs. I can not afford to spend a lot because I am still in school. If anybody knows someone in my area that could do this cheap, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Patrick

Help!

Patrick,

I might be able to help you, I will need to see how bad the damage is. I also live on the Coast (Biloxi). I look forward to meeting other coast LC owners. Let's try to meet soon so I can check out your FJ40.

CottonLand Cruisers - Gulf Coast chapter! :bounce:

Not a bad idea! I know of another FJ60, and one FJ62 on the coast. We would need someone with time and organizational skills. We could probably learn alot from you (euclid). However, Jackson is not that far and we could combine efforts to make one large family. Just a thought!

Chuck sent you a email. Thanks for responding. I do think a Gulf Coast chapter would be nice because there are four other fj40s in Ocean Springs and also a couple of fj60s and fj80s. But like you said a combination of Coast and Jackson people would be cool also.

Step #1, start getting together and hanging out, making sure you have fun.

Let us know what you need, and when you get together. Maybe some of us will make a trip down your way. PM me, and I'll get you my phone #.

Like the old Bank of Mississippi slogan...From the coast to the capitol!

I live in Wiggins...I was looking for a group of LC folks.

I have been here four years. I have a 69 FJ40 and have owned it for 20 years. I would love to meet some fellow LC folks from the coast or capital.:)

I am not much on the mechanical side but I can lend some great moral support.:D

Lets Ride

Welcome.

Would that be the Wiggins north of RossBarnett Reservoir or Wiggins south of Hattiesburg?

interested in riding in the De Soto Nat'l forest?

I did not know there was more than 1 Wiggins MS.

I live on the coast and ride the De Soto alot, but I would still like to
go cruisin and swap riding spots.

I didnt know there was more than one Wiggins either....Wiggins south of Hattiesburg is where I am located.

No, I taught a class at USM Gulf Coast once, but I teach at Perk full time.

My rig is not back to trail readiness yet. It has been sitting for four years sadly.

I am in the process of getting her back in shape.

I am looking for advice on some aftermarket gauges. I had a complete rewire about eight years ago with Painless, but my gauges are fried.

I need to know what I need to change to make aftermarket gauges work.

I have a 69 FJ with a Chevy 305 in it.

Peace

Might be moving back to Ocean Springs this summer. Glad to see a few LC owners in the area.
