Need help removing the 4pin trailer plug from the trailer hitch

So my 1998 has the 4pin trailer plug attached to the hitch, how do I remove that plug so I can get the 4pin out? It might be super easy but just want to make sure I take the right approach so I do not break it, I need it temporarily until I can install the 7 pin rv plug
