need help: previous owner reversed polarity in batt.. i have no tailights!!! (1 Viewer)

hey guys, my first post here, i am a proud owner of an 86 fj60 w/ 177k california car. body in excellent shape, no rust, except i have a problem with hesitation (egr valve or carb, exhaust man, egrvm, don't know yet) but first thing on the list is i have no tailights nor guage lights.

i checked the fuses they look fine. is it the fusible link? If so, where is it?

reversing polarity will blow the fusible link. It leads from the positive terminal of the battery. Looks like a multi-strand (3) wire. Replace and get a spare. It will cause idling problems also.
