Hello-

I noticed that this wire is broken and don't know what part number to order to replace it. Intake is removed in the pictures and you can see that the wire comes from the small black box behind the intake.

First image shows the resistance that was added to the DRL circuit (and there were some other wiring and harness mods associated with this recall campaign) has been hacked out. The part numbers will be in the DRL recall installation instructions if you want to return the harness and DRL circuit to where it was.
Last time I recall seeing the installation instructions for this DRL recall they were .pdfs attached to LX470 recalls as listed on the national transportation safety web site (or whatever it's proper name is).

Thank you so much for this PADDO. So this could be covered under a recall?

That resistor box was installed under a recall campaign some time back but someone has since butchered it. Look up your VIN history on lexus.com and you should see when and where the work was done and by which dealer. The recall campaign was only good once per eligible vehicle.

Again, thanks for your insight on this. My high-beam indicator light is constantly on without my high-beams or headlights actually being on so that's what had me looking for a problem and this is what I found.

Sorry for the 20 questions (I'll promise this is the last one), but when you say "someone has since butchered it" do you mean that they did a really crappy install on the recall kit? Or by butchered are you referring to the wire that ripped out? I'm the "new" second owner and the PO had all work done at Lexus so if they screwed up (Like I think they did with my blue AHC fluid) I want to find out who to point the finger at.

Toyota sells leads to repair the section that goes into the connector. I believe is part number 82998-12440

See if this makes sense to you: Oil in Intake Manifold Post #9. The connector has only one lead, but it is the water proof style. Working from the end of the connector, get a pick and pull out the locking tab, you can then push out the wire stub

The dealer who installed the DRL campaign fix would not have left it like that. You can locate the embodiment instructions for the fix from the nhtsa site like I said and read how simple the work package was. That screen shot I posted is from the embodiment instructions and one of the last steps in these instructions is to verify functionality of the headlights and the dimmed DRLs. So at some point someone has messed with the harness. And blue AHC fluid is a whole new can of worms....... there is no such thing as blue fluid for the AHC system. It can look very dark in the reservoir and becomes a darker cola color with age and oxidation but it's not blue. It's a pink/rose when fresh and new and prior to about 2009 it was clear/straw color.
and I don't believe this will be your last question;)
