Well...after almost 8 months our house in Burlington is finally under contract (fingers crossed that everything is smooth through closing - 4/29).

So, the wife and I plan on renting for 6 -12 months instead of buying as we aren't really sure if we want to make the move back to the coast now or in 4-5 years.

We are just starting our search for a rental in the RTP area. Wife works at Duke and I work from east Raleigh to Winston to Mexico. We are just starting our search but I'm thinking our best area is Apex / Morrisville for the wife's daily commute to Duke.

Any thoughts, recommendations or areas to look would be great! Our first choice would be to rent a 2-3 bedroom home with a garage but a condo/townhouse with LOTS of parking is not out of the question. Price is mostly dependent on what the property looks like.

Also if anyone is up for splitting some warehouse rental space in the RTP area for toys / parts plus power I'd be interested (there's got to be a lot of divided warehouse space available for a decent price the way the economy is right now).

Finally I might need to have a HAMON just to get 40 (without steering or brakes) onto a car trailer and out of the garage :D.

Ya'll need to come down one day Jon and we can drive around and show you some ideas for areas/communities. We love where we are, but there isn't a lot of youth.

Apex -> Duke would be a crappy commute, I'd take Ramon up on the offer to look around his general area. Of course, I can make you special deal on wonderful home in Holly Springs too. ;)

Congrats on finally getting a contract on your home Jon!

Apex to Duke might not be too bad if 540/Durham Freeway extension is finished...but there are definitely closer places!

I loved Apex - but as Ramon said - not much youth! You live down there you're gonna wind up having babies!

Give some parameters as to your search for a rental property so we can narrow the search.

Kinda depends...if it's a house then I would rather have something older with some land/space then deal with an HOA. If it's a townhome then location would be key. Price point is probably around the ~1k range.

I think that's a great idea. I'll call you over the next couple days and we can see what works best for you and the wifey.

Twins even

Definitely not drinking the Apex tap water :flipoff2:. We love some Lilly, Little Clint, and Garrett but twins would be one hell of a curve ball right now .

Thanks for all the suggestions. We are getting excited to get on to our next place!!

There's a 3100 sq foot home for rent 4 houses down from us if you wanted to almost double your budget :)
