Can someone that knows the FZJ80 better than I help me narrow down a noise.

Im having a noise from the front and I cant tell if it's the AC clutch or the water pump making noise. Or maybe it's the bottom end. My last oil analysis showed high lead so I thought it could be a bearing going out- but Im not sure that would show as a noise.

I just wanna fix whatever it is before it gets worse.

Late last night I talked to a friend that was a Toyota dealer tech back in the mid 90s. Followed some ideas and this morning I pulled the AC belt and ran the motor. No more noise. I noticed when I pulled the belt it seemed somewhat loose. Also the AC pulley has maybe 1/4 inch of forward/back play. Is that normal? When I put the belt back on I got it snug to match the other belts. Now the noise is gone. Looks Ive narrowed it to the AC clutch. Could the noise have been from the belt being loose and now its fine or should I plan on doing an AC clutch in the future. Im calling CDan this week for some stuff and need to see if should a clutch to the order.

Hmm, haven't run into this problem before so im no help. If you do want, i have an extra compressor off my parts truck you can try OR if you got to order parts I can get you a pretty healthy discount at red mcombs yota.

I may want to take a look at the clutch on that parts truck one then. How much discount at McCombs? Im in need of valve cover gasket/spark tube seals, belts, plug wires, distrib o-ring, vacaum hoses off the valve cover and some other stuff. Im free today.

The only place I trust to touch my trucks is The Dealer Alternative on Bitters Rd. All Ex dealership people with out the dealership pressure to fix things that don't need to be fixed. Totally honest.
