We just picked up a 8' camper from one of cindy's co workers for $100. It was in the middle of being "fixed up", the old 3 way fridge and water tank were rippped out and I have a 3'x2'x2' hole where there once was a fresh water tank and fridge.

I dont care if i put in another propane fridge, I was thinking about using foam insulation and then fiberglass to make an ice box, my uncle made one of these for hunting and though its much colder in october when they go hunting the food stays frozen for the entire week.

Also any one know where I can get dry Ice ?

well I have done a little google research and decided on an ice box. I want to be able to keep stuff cold for 5 to 7 days with out the need for propane or a.c. / d.c. .

so far it looks like I will need about 4 inches of closed cell foam with a 1/3 ice to 2/3rd cooler space I have so far used up 2 sheets of 1/2" closed cell foam, I am planning on adding another 2 sheets and then laying up about 4 layers of fiberglass cloth . It would have been easier to buy another fridge as I found one on craigs list for $75.

But my plan is for a " keep it simple stupid " as we will only sleep in the camper and cook outside. I plan on intalling a hand pump for water so we can " live off the grid" .
