I have a 1998 100 series (HDJ101-0003893) series with a 4.2 litre Turbo Diesel (1HDFTE). Have owned it for approximately 10 months. It started cutting out in right hand corners initially and then eventually cut out all together. Have been doing all kinds of diagnostics to find the issue. Found that the Spill Valve (solenoid) had died.
To cut along story short, I found out that a prior owner had been having a problem with a leaky spill valve (solenoid) on the fuel pump. It was changed and somehow in the process had damaged something on the board in the ecu which they also had repaired (got this from the mouth of the repairer who did all of this).
I have no faith in the repair and now would like to find a replacement ECU and also if possible a new spill valve (solenoid) for the pump. Problem is that I have not so far been able to locate an ECU, nor does Toyota provide a part number for the spill valve (they sell the entire pump).
Is there anybody who can point me to an ecu? New or second hand.
