Been looking for a clean LC100 for the past year but haven't found anything within driving distance that I would be satisfied with. The time has come for me to move on from my current Jeep Grand Cherokee. I need more space and it is getting to the point that within the next 1-2 years I will be spending 5k+ on it in repairs. Don't feel like putting money into a truck that will be gone soon.

So I ask of you my LC loving friends, should I buy a 07 LX470 with 50k miles on it for $33k, or should I just get a brand new 2014 4Runner? I kind of feel like for that much money I might as well just get something new. I've compared the two trucks and besides a little extra room the LX doesn't offer that much more than the current gen 4R.

Opinions would be highly appreciated.

Uh you're in the 100 series forum so I vote LX. Unless you want the depreciation of a new car. As far as straight up basic function they may offer the same but you're comparing a $70k when new vehicle to one that's not. Not apples to apples IMO. Nothing against a 4Runner, it's still a Toyota but you're talking about the flagship SUV. Plus 50k miles is brand new.

Agree. If you ask the same question in the 4runner section, you probably get the same answer about the 4 runner.

Can you get a brand new limited 4x4 4runner for $33k? If so, go for it.

Looks like you'd have to get a used 4Runner Limited with 50k miles to get what the LX470 has at that price.

That is not a terrible price and with that mileage it will last you decades. The two vehicles are simply in different classes. Trying to compare it cupholder number style is pointless.
