Premise #3 …. I have an older Yaesu 7900
Here is the story:
I rode trails with a group of friends last weekend and we communicated via simplex. When I keyed my mike everyone else was hearing an initial tone that on occasion blocked the initial part of my transmission. Mine was the only radio that had this tone. Can anyone tell me why that’s the case and can the tone be turned off?
