looking for the ballast resistor for the coil on a 74 F engine.
Mine fell apart when I changed the coil out.
It will fire for a second then stop running.
Any other suggestions on what I could use?

Lane,
I have no suggestions on a replacement, but if you'd like I can look through my box of left over parts from the V-8 swap for one. Also have some parts buggies out back I could look at. I'm fairly positive there is one, it's a matter of the condition though. Going to the barn on Saturday to work on my junk, I'll take a look and post my findings in the PM.

Thanks Dave! I was reading last night and figured out that the fuel solinoid isn't
hooked up to the coil so I'm not getting fuel. I stillneed the other part tho.

We are talking about the big ceramic resistor that piggybacks the coil right?
I'll swing by Napa tomorrow.

Picked up a replacement Ballast resistor at my favorite parts store.
It is from an early 70's Crysler, $7, has spade connectors so I'll have to change them. Its made by Borg-Warner.

Yea, but its still the cheapest part I've bought for the 40!
