Can anyone recommend a decent machine shop in Tulsa?

Popped the head gasket in my 80 and would like to find someone who is familiar with these engines.
I have the head pulled and need it checked as well as a valve job.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Lucito's has done great work for me on my 2F heads. Great to work with.

I really appreciate it guys.
I'll give them a call.

I contacted Lucito's about doing the work.
For doing everything I need including adjusting the valves, was almost $700.
I know I'm out of touch what machine costs are these days (been 20yrs since I've needed any).
I felt that was kinda spendy but I do want the job done correctly by someone familiar with the 1FZ.

I don't know what you have asked that he do, but paid $100 to have a 1FZ head tested and surfaced.

Don't know what kind of valve job was spec'd, but could see where it might add up quick.

Might be worth having them check valves before assuming they need replaced, but if they do, not a bad price for the full head job and have paid similarly for Robbie's shop in Colorado to do an FZ.

The work we talked about was:
Clean
Surface
Valve job/check guides/install seals (will use old valves)
Adjust valves
R&R cams

Adjusting the valves is something I'd be happy not to do!

Lucitos is very good but not the cheapest in town. He does quality work and I would rather have it done right than do it twice. Toyota engines are not his specialty and I am sure he has to research them some.

Stay away from Midwest Motor Rebuilders.

The Accent guys say they are using Car Parts Machine Shop. I have not sued them at all so I cannot say about quality.

You threw me when you said adjust the valves. I am used to the old 2Fs. Had to ponder that one a minute before I realized what you were dealing with.

Thanks Dave,

I've heard good things about Lucito's so I don't paying a bit more for a job done right.
24 valves to grind and adjust isn't cheap.

Also, I've heard good reports on Car Parts.

Guys, I really appreciate everyone's input!
