I just picked up a 4runner that is missing a rear bumper. Anyone holding on to a stock yota rear bumper gathering dust that would fit? Ill measure the rear frame in the morning. Will likely hit the junk yard sat morning in search of hidden treasures.

Sam

I'm also looking for a cheap parking brake cable. Wondering if its something That I can just make myself.

Sam,

I've got an after market step bumper that might do the job. It was purchased for a Tacoma but is too narrow it looks like it would fit a mini truck or 1st gen 4runner. Never been used.

How about after you help us work on the Raffle Truck tomorrow:D:D:D:D

Pictures? Of the 4Runner, not necessarily the bumper. What's the story with the 4Runner? Starting a love affair with IFS (I actually love IFS!), or did you get it for the MPG?

I'd been looking for at 60/62/80s for a while trying to find something a little bigger so i can haul gear/trash and more comfortable for the girlfriend to drive. I was about to pull the trigger on an early 80 with a bad a440 tranny and do a 4speed h42 swap, but figured that 80s are just too damn expensive to maintain. Saw an ad on craigslist for an 86 4runner, got pictures through email, then left the house at o'dark 30 to drive to Maryland to arrive before the other potential buyers.
I've been 'needing' something to replace my old sold Dodge truck, and for $600 for a Toyota 4x4 was too good to pass up.

This thing even has something called a five speed!:D:steer:

Good point PF. Ill have to think of a way to adapt the truck bumper, maybe bolt on some square stock that sldes into the frame rails and somehow attach that to the step bumper. I suppose welding the square stock on the backside of the bumper would be the best way.
This bumper is really just temporary until I can find/make/modify something better.
