i just pulled the trigger on a Jensen vx7020. Any ideas which wiring harness I can use to adapt it to my 1999 LC? I want to use th factory amp and ideally would not like to cut any wires off my existing harness. Thanks!

Probably want to do a search. Its kind of hard to tell, but is your LC already Nav/DVD equpped? If so, there's really no way to adapt a nav equipped LC to work with aftermarket, at least from what I've seen. Ive seen that a company was working on trying to figure it out, but I don't think they've come up with anything marketable thus far.

Problem is your climate controls are built into the Nav unit so if you go aftermarket, you lose those controls.

If you don't have factory Nav, a quick search should yield you answers.

Assuming a non-nav LC, here's what Crutchfield has. It looks like it does requires splicing.

Look at the installation gear link.

cool. it looks like I need the Metra 70-8112 and have to splice a little. not so bad, really. my 1999 didn't have factory nav, just that junk stereo

i got the nav unit today from amazon with all the adapter wires and back up camera. Where have you all been mounting your rear view camera?

The factory rear view camera is mounted in the space under the lift gate and over the license plate. It's fairly protected from weather/dirt there.

The metra wiring loom has 4 RCA jacks and about 5 other colored wires. The Jensen harness has a ton of wires. I must wire many to one? It says it's straightforward, but it's complicated to me. Any tips or advice?

Its not that difficult. Check out the jensen site they have a nice wiring diagram you can follow. I have the same stereo with harness. Pretty simple with that diagram. A few RCA's and 4 or 6 cables.

That's killer. Thanks! Did you have any ground noise issues? Or did the harness cover that?

I have hissing from all inputs. I bought a ground loop isolator but have not installed it yet.
