I know a "Non Nav" LC is the dream, but difficult to find. Is the $800 send in fix the only real fix? Is that why people avoid NAV LX and LCs?

I am curious if this is why some folks feel a 99/2000 is the best year of the 100 series.

If a Nav issue means no heat in MN while its sent in that may not work for me in any other winter than this one

Pretty much. It's either a pricey fix or even costlier to replace. However, the computer failing is a rather rare occurrence in my observation. I've only seen one or two reports of the unit either being fried or touchscreen being wonky. By no means common.

In looking at a few 2003 with 200k miles. Probably incorrectly assuming if there hasn't been an issue to date that I would be ok.

$800 wouldn't be fun, its more of an issue of downtime but if the fix has no guarantee that is the bigger concern. Ugh. Maybe I need to pivot to a 99/00 instead. Not a bad option actually based on prices

I saw $3-400 for a fix, not $800. Although I probably should read up on it more when/if mine goes, so I know who/where to send it too. I wish I didn't have it as the NAV itself is terrible, but I love my 5 speed. So pick your poison.

As many will say, find the rig with the least amount of rust, least miles, least wear and most maint records and major service(s) completed that fits within your budget. The rest is just regular aging and wear 'n' tear. Again, not many problems with the NAV units, but you'll be sure to find the most on enthusiast forums such as this.
