SILVER Star
Hey Guys,
I was able to make contact with Chris McGrath with the BLM in Ennis to pitch the idea of a clean up at Revenue Flats for National Public Lands Day. He was absolutely thrilled with the idea of doing a clean up there as it is high on their list of priorities for such an event! He said that they typically don't have the resources to conduct such an event so he is very happy that we are willing to volunteer our time.
As this particular area is mixed use with climbers, shooters and partiers, Chris asked if we would be willing to have some help from local climbers. I said that we would and he reached out to the Spire Climbing Center here in Bozeman. They are excited about the idea too and are going to help out! That being the case, the event is going to be from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday September 24, 2016. I figure that we can all meet up at 8:15am in the Dark Horse Customs parking lot in 4 Corners and then head out. I'd like to be there by 9:30am so we can be ready to go after the BLM gives us a short safety talk and we complete signing waivers and such.
This is going to be an awesome event and a really great way to start building a relationship with the BLM and other groups that use public lands! Most importantly, we are going to make a difference by cleaning up Revenue Flats! The BLM is going to take care of providing trash bags and they will also haul away all of the garbage.
Please post up and let us know who all is going to be able to make it. We would love to have a strong turn out for this event so that we can show how important this kind of work is to us as an organization.
Cheers!
Stephen
