Mechanic newb here, after driving around today (some puddles, but early in the day) after getting home and parking upward on my incline driveway I noticed there was fluid leaking continually for 5 minutes no sign of stopping.

It seemed clear and had no odor, so thinking it was water. It was coming out of this valve looking opening - is some tube supposed to be attached here?

no worries man, that's what it's supposed to do! There is no hose attached, but I recently attached one so that it wouldn't drip onto my sway bar bolts.

I have a question about this too. Does this nozzle sticking out of the firewall lead straight back into the evaporator box under the glovebox? If there was a clog, is it safe to stick something in there and fish it back towards the inside of the cabin? Pen, Weed eater line, coat hanger?

If this is clogged, could a drip under the glovebox occur?

Thanks,
Jason

Yes, if it gets clogged, water will drip on to the passenger side carpet, as the tray fills up. Happened to me a year ago. Best to fish something in there to keep it clear.

Hmmm...we've had close to 0 degree temps. I wonder if this could be part of my "leak under glovebox when going through carwash" thread. Ice forming in the tube?

Guys,

I'm stumped. I took the truck to the shop and they fished out the nozzle that sticks out of the firewall. No charge. Appears to be clear. We're now 100 degrees. A/C blowing ice cold. There is a drip under the glove box. Seems to be between the door and the box that the door is screwed to. I took the glove box off and removed the door. Reattached the door and tightened the screws. Still drips out the bottom. See photo (Sorry, the photo is upside down, but you can see the drip). Can I run a strip of waterproof silicone along the bottom of the door or will that hurt anything? It's almost like the door won't seal to the evaporator box when I screw it together.

I don't want to take it to the dealer if I can help it.

Any advice would be appreciated. This drip is driving me nuts.

Thanks,
Jason
