Give the plugs some firm taps with a hammer, it will help loosen them. Remember to tighten them gently

Make a tool for taking off those 'orrible skinny 24mm drain plugs. Get a 24mm socket (preferably 6 point) & grind or machine it down past the internal chamfer so you get full engagement on the plug. It's a tool anyone who works on Toyotas should have.

PB Blaster and my neighbor's impact wrench...everything is now loose and I'm good to go.
thanks guys. I'll buy replacement bolts for when I make the fluid change later this week.

transfer case, transmission, and PTO fluids are all changed, new bolts in place.
Still need to do the differentials....

Will these fluids need to be topped off again after I first drive the car as is the case after an oil change?

Some times a good cleaning with a stiff wire brush. Or a good impact gun. Replace drains with a new magnetized one with crushable washer. Spray after brushing wait a bit tap gently with hammer. Like a tack hammer. Fit a 24mm as deep as possible. Use a cheater on a breaker bar
