Perhaps this global warming thing isn't such a sham after all. I heard on the radio on the way home tonight that it was warmer in Vancouver BC today than it was in Georgia Alabama.

14 hour drive, no air conditioning

I drove the Land Cruiser to Northern Cal. today. About 14 hours of which 7 hours were in temps between 102 and 110 (I have a thermometer on my watch that I kept in a shady part of the truck during the drive to keep track of the madness).:bang:

Keeping cool procedure. Buy cold bottled water. Drink what you can until it gets hot like tea. Pour remaining over head, it dries in about 15 minutes, Repeat. You lucky b**tards with fridges can :flipoff2:

I came to the Smith River and had a great swim which made me feel a whole lot more like a human rather than a sweaty dog. 15 minutes later, through the Redwood forest and out to the Coast at Crescent City, a fog bank rolled in and no kidding it was instantly 40 degress F cooler. Had to close the windows and put my fleece on.

What a trip. I'm down for work, the guys here haven't ever seen a diesel land cruiser, so they've been bugging me for a year to drive it down. Go figure, pick the hottest day of the year.:bang:

I am currently in Southern Alabama right now, as I am driving from Florida back to Canada. According your your temp gauge you guys have this place beat by at least 15C degrees! Dam that's hot.

The thermometer is in the sun, so really it's only a little above 50. ;)

Abby is smoking hot! we went back to Davis Lake to swim all day before packing out other peoples garbage. It was way too hot today.

When are you heading back up? We're heading for Grants Pass tomorrow.

Heading North

When are you heading back up? We're heading for Grants Pass tomorrow.

Wednesday night or Thursday night, not sure yet, depending how the next couple of days of meetings go.

But you'll have to settle with Starbucks or the like - no Timmy's Ice caps down there. :D

I think it was the humidity that was so bad yesterday. Our porch, which is south facing, has a roof and it was over 100 F. Too frickin' sticky for me.

It is looking to be the same today - I have already clsed up the windows as it is hoter outside at 8:30 AM than inside now. Didn't cool down much last night.
