Here is a pic or factory steering.

What I adjusted is the bar(F) between A (ti-rod) and G. One of these (A or G) has a reverse thread which means righty loosy and lefty tighty. This alows the bar to grow or shrink in length by just turning the bar with the clamps loose. The clamps that you unloosen are between A and F and F and G in the pic 14mm I believe. These are on the bar and prevent it from turning while driving. Unloosen the clamps, put some channel locks @ 12 o'clock on the bar and rotate the bar towards the tire or away from the vehicle a turn at a time until you see it straighten out. If your wheel is clocked to the left rotate the bar towards the vehicle. Leave your wheels on the ground so your wheel turns when you adjust. If yo stuff is rusty you should WD40 of PB blast it to get them clean and turning. Do not take any thing off unless you cant get things clean enough to turn!!!! The same thing can be done between C and B. If every thing is clean this should only take a few minutes. I'm pretty sure this is what Toyota would do.

Don't worry, I don't feel like you are making fun of me. I'm not an expert by any means. I have found that if I have pictures to boost my confidence that I'm going after the right part I can usually figure things out. It is more of a confidence thing than a knowledge thing. When I find post on this forum that are very detailed with pictures I've been able to figure things out. I get worried I'm doing something wrong and will mess something else up.

Anyways, yea I've thought about just taking it somewhere nearby and having them fix it so I'm confident it is done correct.

Sorry to start this up again. I agree adjusting the drag link (F) changes the orientation of the steering wheel but how far should this be adjusted before pulling the steering wheel becomes necessary? In other words, what is the minimum length the ends should be threaded into the rod? I have 9 threads showing on one end and 4 on the other.

Drag link 1st. I went the other route of pulling the wheel and did not do the trick after driving some. Drag link done the trick and drives good too. Just make sure everything is locked down after and proper tensioning.

Isn't messing with any of that stuff gonna mess with the alignment? Or is that only for the E-D bar in the diagram above?

Tie-rod (E-D) yes, drag link no. I tried C-B as was suggested but got no movement, or so it seemed. Looking at it seems like it should but if it did it was much less apparently than the drag link.

Adjust the Drag link ONE turn @ a time. You can do this @ the link that comes from the steering box to the pivot or from the pivot to the knuckle. The tie rods should be threaded one left one right so that when you turn the link itself it adjusts the length of the rod. This will adjust your steering wheel position. Pulling a steering wheel is the last resort. :steer:

Does this work the same with power steering involved? I assume so, but I'm trying to save some potential frustration.
