replacing the rear spoiler mounts with two 300w cree led floods. I am going to put a DPDT switch within the gas tank filler area so i can have them on all the time, off all the time, or on when the backup lights come on. Here is my schematic.

Personally I would never install a switch that could cause a spark in that area. I know the gas door would be open when you switch it I just don't think it good practice installing electric around gas fumes. I doubt your spending the cash for a explosion proof switch. Do you know what the AUX port in the back is rated for? I'm sure it fused before it gets there. I looked into wiring a brake controller in my 2000 when I had. Looking at the electrical manual for the 100 series it reminded why I love my old cruisers so much. While I haven't had a problem with Toyota electronics once the distributor went away if the computer says it doesn't want the engine to run it's not going to run. Maybe once I get some things squared away on my FJ25 and register it for the road I'll bring it along with everything that came with it new to a meeting. When everything goes to $hit this what I want to drive.
