I like having my xm radio in this position because as I drive my arm is on the arm rest, hand is on the shifter and my fingers wind up right on the station change buttons. Power is from theb outlet in the arm rest and antenna is routed under the back seats along with a extension for the back power outlet. I use the extension to run a refrigerator when I travel in the back seat

Time to clean your truck!

True I was on the highway with it 3 weekends straight and then it rained this weekend and it takes almost half a day to clean it right. It is getting dirty

Not exactly a "sanitary" install ... :whoops:

It's always good to keep ketchup packets around.

I have a similar set-up on the center console - lifting my arm off the armrest isn't an option!

I have a friend with an F-150 that mounted it center on the dash - complete fail IMO.

You've got some cable management to do as well :flipoff2:

I saw the thread yesterday on running cables from the front to the back . That will help. I got to add an audio cable for the phone and power and audio for another tablet as well as a mount ... And then power for an iphone and iPad. May work in a 120v outlet too. The xm is just the first piece of the puzzle. I am a little nervous about taking the dash and trim apart. I want to work out what toys and lights I want to put in and placement before worrying about wiring

Keep us posted.

You've posted a great "Before" pic, now all we need is an even better "After" pic.

Do you have a radio or navigation? If you have the double din radio, you might as well buy a $100 radio that has Sirius/xm built in.

I bought a bracket for mine from a place on the internet called tss radio. Its puts it up by the ac controls.

I have a 2002... I have Nav, but amongst other reasons, it is cheaper for me to use a tablet and use copilot when I need up to date gps info.

Am I correct in thinking that the whole middle console cover pops out in one piece?
