So I came across this 1972-40 in rough shape but not a lot of rust and interesting parts.
My knowledge of 72 is limited so help me out here
Doors are skinned in canvas with plexiglass windows...what do we think

Cool long jump seats

Brakes work, steers easy, supposedly runs and drives, but the dizzy was out...so the last part is to be determined
1f, 3 speed on the floor, selectro hubs engage easily with the exception of mechanical fuel pump (replaced by electric) looks like all the bits and pieces are there, wrong hardtop but has stock 1/2 barn doors...seat mounts but no seats....anyone have the bucket/bench combo?

I suspect that it originally came with a factory softtop, but was later replaced with a factory hardtop and the softtop doors were retained. No better than a guess on my part.

Congratulations on the find.

Do you have a drop down tailgate or the two doors?

twin doors (small twin tailgate doors) and it appears to have factory footman loops on the rear corners.

That you may have a problem

How many are you up to now?
5, I couldn't let it go to the crusher...besides, I'm not anywhere close to Butch's hoard

The factory soft top had a drop down one piece tailgate. Sounds like it's a hard top model. Not sure what the story is on those homemade doors.

Some of the softops like for the BJ43 had 2 small doors in the rear similar to the regular small doors but thinner and lighter.

Those are OEM Factory Soft Top doors...if the metal is all in good shape, the canvas and plexi can be replaced pretty easy. Chad Smithson restored a pair and there are some pictures in his thread...A nice set of FST Doors brings $500 or so.
