HEY YALL! been reading lots of different bumper threads and i have a pretty good idea of what im going to be doing

i cheated a little im not starting from scratch im starting w/downey products that i found on Ebay

eBay Motors: Toyota Land Cruiser Heavy Duty Front Bumper 1964 to 83 (item 250294489656 end time Mar-11-09 21:36:56 PDT)

and

eBay Motors: Heavy Duty Toyota Land Cruiser Rear Bumper, 1974 / 1983 (item 250294492512 end time Mar-11-09 21:55:51 PDT)

what i ordered isnt exactly what is picture i talked to Jim at downey (562-949-9498) and he sold me the pair "raw" no paint or shackles for 50$ a piece + shipping which i thought was a pretty sweet deal.

once i get the bumpers ill post some pics.

the plan
A) put some shackles on the bumpers front and rear
B) im going to put a swindle on the back to build a tire carrier (im thinking about getting that from IPOR so if anyone has any thoughts on that im all ears)

i hope to have a tire carrier and cooler rack on the back

this wont be anything advance or "hardcore" or 1 of a kind but i hope it will be something im proud of and can show off. its my first try at building something like this so im lookin forward to seeing how it turns out

just got my bumpers today!!!
they are VERY pretty...
i was going to work on them this weekend and next week
im not ordering the shackles or the spindle im making them

im going to copy the spindle used on waren bumpres.
super heave duty bolt slid through a rubber bushing wrap that in 2" .120 wall dom tubing

ill take some pics while i put it together so you can see what im talking about (itll be a week or 2 its spring break starting tomorrow and im heading to the FL KEYS!!!)
