Thanks again for your feedback and support.
I can't get into too many details right now... please consider this: The individual dealer makes the difference in "sales satisfaction", "customer service" and "after sales satisfaction" experience... all those JD Power survey results are skewed data IMO.
With all my frustrations with mid-level management at Toyota Motor Sales, it was the Penske organization that made the top brass aware of the situation -- they have the most influence of any dealer network in North America.
I will name the people responsible as soon as I have cash in hand... the outcome is better than expected. There are several individuals that helped me through this process and they can expect a cash bonus right after the first of the year -- this would have cost me valuable time and money if I retained a lawyer to fight this in court.
My intentions for a replacement will be disclosed after the settlement -- until then, if you’re interested in buying a new Land Cruiser or Lexus… send a PM and I’ll give you a good name to contact.

What is the status on your replacement vehicle
Everyone should bear in mind that the reason Toyota is able to take care of this in a very fair way is that things like this don't happen very much with Toyotas.
The dealer said my Land Cruiser is the only known case... I believe it.
No replacement. They paid me full value at time of purchase, plus T&L and loan interest over 14 months -- zero deduction for mileage. I transferred ownership to Toyota, they gave me a check and sent a check via FedEx to my lender. The deal was done last Friday, the loan was paid off on Tuesday this week.
I'm driving a rental now -- 2007 Chevy Impala.
The SW from the dealer called today and asked what I'm driving .. said they had my OLD Land Crusier in the shop for the frame replacement and they'll probably have it well over a month.
I told him Toyota is sending it to auction after it's fixed .. and they pulled the Platinum extended warranty.
If I were you, I'd drop by to look at the frame replacement job in progress, just for fun. You could see what it really looks like.
How do you like the Chevy rental? Rental cars are useful in telling us how other marques' vehicles are made, although they won't tell us much about durability or long-term reliability.
So.......What's the word on this situation? Any updates?
