So I'm heading to Moab and touring for about a month this year at the same time... been looking for awhile and just bought a Jayco 10x qwest pop up. 2002 model. Had to drive 340 miles round for it. But not too bad.

Here is what they look like.. Not the same as mine. But it's dark and I had to find one online for a pic.
2003 Jayco Quest 10X Pop Up Camper for Sale - Windsor Cars & Vehicles - Kijiji Windsor

It's going to be towed behind my Bj60. SO I needed something not much heavier than this. As the 3B engine really has nothing to spare, only fuel economy.

I might flip the axle SOA. To make it level with my bumper pintle ball combo. And then I need some bigger tires.

Is it ok to flip the axle and 180 degree it for toe in? Then I need some bigger tires and some diamond plate rock guard.

Anyhow this will be home for a 5k mile trip poking around the NW, then onto Southern Ontario and back all the way thru Canada home.

looks nice! how did it tow behind the 60?

I only towed it behind my 80 so far. It was fine. Needed a little downshifting on big hills, but wasn't bad at all.

It weighs about 1600 lbs I think. I will have to look further into the dry weight. By the time I'm loaded to head to Moab I will be at the limits of the 60. Slow going is ok.

Return the kindness...

This is a good opportunity for me to return the kindness you have given me with the 3B questions.

I just built a 6" lift for a friend's Jayco trailer. There are two types of axles under the Jaycos. The first has leaf springs. The second has a torsion axle made by Dexter. His has the later and it posed a problem.

At first glance you can flip the axle so the torsion arm gains about 4" but when I did it there was almost no change! I had to manufacture a sub frame with a drop for the axle to mount to.

BEWARE... the Jayco trailers have very weak frame rails. This is good to save weight but bad for those of us who modify our toys. A subframe support should be considered.
