You can pillage any of those bits off of mine...

You guys come through. :steer:
Thanks Travis. I think the one from Keif will do the trick but I'll keep your generous offer in mind. Who knows what will develop next. :bang:
See you all soon.:D

:frown: :crybaby: :bang: :hmm: :bang: :bang: :bang::censor: :whoops:

It doesn't look good does it Ty...? :meh:

Received VSV today and promptly put it through the 4 tests. right at the upper limit on the resistance... no continuity, check, blows through with 12V BUT...does not blow through without 12V. Pretty much the same as the one I have. :crybaby:
SOOOO...despite a modest amount of disappointment, I will forge ahead and start the re-assemble.
Have a 4 day weekend with excellent weather predicted so I think I'll be able to make significant progress.
I'll just use my VSV and pretend it works. With the other things I corrected, I'm hoping to improve run ability.
Onward thru the fog...

I wonder if a new one would do the same thing.. Failing in one state or another would seem common but not resulting in an opposite status. I would look around here on mud.
I would also be curious what status would keep the EG from getting recirulated.

Not quite sure what you mean. This VSV is for the EVAP system. I was fortunate to get a new Dorman VSV for the EGR which is "prolly" more important.
Either way, things are churning and happnin' today.

it was a little one...really:hillbilly:

Backward?

Nope not possible...sorry that was all I had.

V/C in position with the tubes apparently as far up the seal as they'd go without poking through, V/C not down far enough to start the bolts I feel.
I think I'm going to have to sink the seals completely or it doesn't fit properly.
Does this sound faulty?

mo betta!:hillbilly:

first bolt goin' down!

one in the back was a pain:bang:

this is a picture of 2 of the 3 nuts/studs I found holding fan clutch on.
looks like the battery boxes and shroud will be coming out.
still, V/C is down and tight. doesn't appear to be an actual torque spec just tight until V/C meets cyl. head. :hmm::meh:
forward...

Studs too long?? That would have been a noisy engine with it on all the time, plus slow warmups. Hey Russ, is it really the high 60's there?? Near 100 here today!:eek:

high 60's today but there's fog. 70's the last couple of days . :D
had the umbrella out over the work area.
Hoping for a break in the weather for Mcgrew. Not sure if the AC will be online.

Miissing stud turned out to be a broken stud. :bang: Just popped the WP out:rolleyes::lol:.
Wasn't nearly as nasty as the WP in the 3FE! There are some "gosh, while I'm here...":hmm: but time and money constraints demand a narrow focus and not go out of my way.

Broken stud
"I'm Bad Hole" not leaking
Back side looks good

Looks easier to deal with. My 3FE pump was a weirder shape and to me seemed like the bolt pattern made for uneven torquing. Was it leaking- it looks pretty good! :meh:
