so after about 3 months of no 40, a moron of a mechanic at a shop 2 mins from my house who claimed i needed a new engine, and a trip out to Toyota Techs in Fort Mill to save the day, i think my 2011 is going to finally be done this year for my 40. Should get it back Friday thank god... I am having withdrawl. Lets hope she drives like a ferrari now!
Front Arb air locker installed
IPOR skid installed
Elect DUI Ignition from Man-a-Fre installed
Jim C carb installed with all new vacuum lines
Tune up
Rebuilt front axle
As a side note i do now own a nice used 77 2f with a weber and 6in1 headers that i am not sure what i will do with yet. Might rebuild it so its fresh, clean and ready to go when its actually time. Got it as a steal from a friend when i thought i needed a new one when this moron down the street claimed he did a compression test and i for sure needed a new engine... He couldnt have been more wrong. Shoulda taken it to Mark and Johnny at Toyota Techs in fort mill first. When i had it towed there mark immediately put all the parts back on the engine, set the timing and fired it up and did a compression check(lowest compression was 145). Didnt need a new engine. Just needed valve adj, new distributor, timing set correctly and a little fine tuning. Learned my lesson on that debacle. I will push that dang truck to fort mill before i will ever take it anywhere else again. Those guys know Land Cruisers!
