So I have been looking around for a used enduro/dual sport motorcycle for a while, and I've always liked the more old school look of 70 models, I found this one pretty close so I went to look at it yesterday and really liked it. This is the first motorcycle I have ever owned, a matter of fact I had never even ridden one before I test drove this one yesterday..(the owner didnt know that). Its a '78 Suzuki 250 2 stroke with low miles, it is far from new but not bad considering its 30 years old. I have a short commute so I plan on just driving it to work and back. Heres a few pics

Yeah my Landcruiser has not moved in a few months!! I had to buy a old integra to drive to work. The gas was killing me!! I may have to let the Landcruiser go soon:(

Thanks for the positive comments, all in all its not to bad, it runs pretty good, it does have a little bit of a skip while cruising but runs strong while on the throttle. Like I said im a rookie at motorcycles and I think I committed the cardinal sin when looking at a bike, I forgot to look inside the tank for rust.....boy was I surprised when I checked the fuel level this evening, what a bone head move. Over all im pretty pleased with it though, im trying to find a good independent mechanic to take it to and look it over most of the dealerships here really dont know much about stuff that old. If anybody knows of someone please let me know.

Nice ride man. I hear ya about looking it over good. Did the same thing with my last dirt bike and low and behold when i took the seat off part of the frame was missing. Live and learn i say. Still rode and jumped the heck out of it before i got rid of it.

If I were closer I would come and check it out for ya! 2 strokes are my specialty. Just make sure if it is oil injected that it works or just convert it to pre mix.

Well......maybe I could just pick youre brain a little bit, my guess is that the carb could use a good cleaning, Im hoping that is whats causing the engine to skip when at steady throttle, it runs real smooth while accelerating. Would you start there first or should I check some other things as well?
Thanks,
Stephen
