They did... If you watch the two commercials from the sixties, I believe it shows a couple upside down. That probably didn't happen in 61-63 when it would've mattered more.

I didn't do it and haven't had the time to flip it. I might be crazy for wanting to swap but I believe it would fit my family better. I still LOVE this old truck.
