Got a cool new toy, umm...tool.
I have been wanting to check how much current draw some of my electrical devices draw. Such as the fridge, trolling motor etc. I found this gadget and it will measure 8 electrical variables including real time current, battery voltage, peak watts, total amp hours, max amps etc. Yes I could do it with volt meter and some calculations, but this is cooler. Amp hours would be tougher, wouldn't want to baby sit it.
Nice to know my fridge draws 2.5 amps. I set it out today on the sunny front porch, fridge shaded by a piece of card board. It ran for 6.5 hours and used about 7 amp hours and I will retest in summer. Really nice thing is it works from 0-60v, 50 amp continuous, 130 peak so I will be able to monitor my trolling motor. This will all come in real handy for my new solar system
