Thanks for all of the ideas. He has become better than he was but still acting weird. We were able to narrow it down to fire. Things like the gas grill, the gas fireplace, and the box of matches all make him nervous. I thought maybe the smell or frequency of the gas for grill and fireplace but when I break out the box of matches he gets all freaked out. I am starting to think something happened to him when we had a dog sitter for a couple days but I don't know what she could have done, but who knows. His vet appointment is due too so I will be sure to mention this behavior to the vet and see what he says.

Hopefully there are no health issues, D'Animal's and patride71's stories are sad and I have already lost a dog to epilepsy and one to tumors so I know how awful that path is.

I wish you the best of luck, caring for an ill pet is a miserable experience. Hopefully, it's just an irrational fear.
