I didn't know there was any cure for Parvo...when I was a kid in Alaska our entire dogsled team died of it, and all their pups (~12 dogs total IIRC)...pretty tramatic as a kid (I was 6 at the time)...

My understanign is that while there is no cure, they treated the symptoms (dehydration, nausea, and seconadry infection, mainly) and the dog's immune system can recover from the Parvo virus itself.

They stated that it's somehthing like chicken pox in humans in regards to a developed immunity after surviving the illness, as the dogs get over it themselves if kept well, but always have the disease present in their systems. The vet said it is very unlikely to get it a 2nd time due to the fact the antibodies are present in their immune system, but it is possible.

Right.

Probably the economics and logistics of dealing with 12 very sick dogs, plus the infection of other working dogs ? I don't know but that must have been quite a trauma, I feel for the dogs in this thread and I don't even know them.
